KEEPING OLDER ADULTS CYBER SAFE
Technology is rapidly growing in popularity, but so is the rate of cybercrime. Our goal is to mitigate these negative effects by educating kūpuna* about safe cybersecurity practices through our comprehensive, easily accessible, and completely free online content.
*Kūpuna is Hawaiian for an honored elder, grandparent, or older person.
THE COURSE
CyberSafety 101 is a self-paced course designed to teach kūpuna about the basics of cybersecurity. The nine-lesson curriculum is complete with quizzes, activities, resources, and 1.5 hours of cybersecurity video content created in collaboration with Jodi Ito, the Chief Information Security Officer for the University of Hawaii. Best of all, CyberSafety 101 is completely free!

PROGRAMS
Coming soon! We have debuted CyberSafety 101 at two local senior care homes, One Kalakaua and The Plaza at Waikiki, and shared the course with members of AARP and the Lanakila Multi-Purpose Senior Center. We have plans to run workshops and extend our reach in the near future. Please contact us if you are interested in partnering with us for future collaborations!
